Continuing from our last post regarding Autism awareness, we here at Tara Cherie want to share with you information regarding the causes of Autism Spectrum and what we are doing to help our daughter and others to overcome.
The Causes of Autism:
Autism is becoming more and more common and though it is not fully understood what completely causes it, though there are theories as to why this is, a huge component is environment and genetics. It is my understanding and belief that elder generations may not per se be full-blown ‘Autistic’, but may fall on the ‘spectrum’ if tested and may not realize they have it because they have not either been tested themselves, misdiagnosed, or previously evaluated, but not enough diagnostic measures were taken or there was not the criteria met to confirm the individual falling on the ‘spectrum’.
About a week and a half ago, my family and I decided to challenge ourselves to increase our vegetable intake. Some may know that we have been eating healthy for quite some time on a special plan called, Trim Healthy Mama (THM). There are those that have vision, those that struggle with vision, and those that have lost their vision. How do you know the difference? Those that have lost their way go about their living by motion, but never really living. Some may fight to live, but circumstance or excuses tend to hold them back from time to time. Then there are those that step out of their comfort zone. The ones who live on the edge are the ones that are the risk takers; they are living proof of what it means to live. I am not saying take it to that extreme, but what is it that gets you going everyday? Are you really living or is it motions? It’s funny how life can effect us in a way that we either go after our goal and achieve it or we give up and settle for less. Which of these types of persons are you? When is the last time you dreamed or truly did something that you enjoyed? What held you back from achieving this (i.e. finances, lack of time, resources, other people)? What would you like to do or do more of?
It’s a brisk, early morning, as the sun is slowly rising. You awaken to the scent of heavenly, brewed fresh coffee in your coffee cup. This morning you will have a fresh cup of coffee to go in the mug on the drive to the lake. You wake up excited anticipating the idea of having a fresh catch of fish as the evening meal. You have all your bait lure, your tackle box, and you are reaching the dock to get into your boat. The water is pristine, calm, and clear; the ultimate weather for catching fish.
You have a particularly perfect place in mind to cast your pole in the water. You have an idea as to how many fish you’d like to catch that day. You begin to create a plan of action mentally that will allow you to obtain your own personal goal. You wind the reel and cast the pole in the water and patiently wait to see the pole tug. You notice that the pole is not tugging and begin to question, was it the right spot, did you use the right lure, was the pole positioned correctly? Your mind races with thoughts. Do you persist or do you quit? Are you consistent with how many times you cast the pole or do you cast it once hoping the fish will be caught and if you don’t catch it, then it wasn’t meant to be or it doesn’t work?
