It’s Not About Your Credentials…(Part I)

Hey friends, I have been thinking about you. I want to bring you a message that is near and dear to my heart. I want you to know today that if there is a desire that has been placed upon your heart, it’s okay. The desire is a representation of the truth in your heart. Receive what is true rather than rejecting it. No matter how tall or how big the obstacle is that you may be facing, there is a reason the desire is burning and growing.

You may feel at times that you are not qualified for the position or for task or goal at hand. At times the goal and end result may seem impossible….

Priorities: Does The Wind Have Your Sail? (Part I)

Hey friends, how many of you are feeling challenged by priorities and obligations? I know we have talked about time management before and how to best use the time you have, however, I’d like to expand on priorities.

Why are priorities important? Priorities allow you to not only manage and balance your time, but they help you stay focused on what’s most important.

Remember, you are not all things to all people nor should you be. If this is you and you feel you have to fix, correct, and be there for everyone, this is false burden bearing; meaning you are carry luggage and other peoples’ burdens on your shoulders and it’s weighing you down! First, I must add false responsibility will never get you ahead. In order to even prioritize, I encourage you to give those roles back to those that you took it from and guide and direct others to individuals that can either assist them or to resources that will guide them accordingly. We must not fish for others, but teach them how to fish and be self-sufficient; this means taking care of you and modeling a healthy relationship and lifestyle and working on your own to be the best you can be!

From Banquet To Feast (Part II)

Last post I was discussing with you the banquet I recently had attended in which our head pastor had a shared a very important video with us reminding us of why it is we serve in the church.

In this video shared were just a few testimonials of members who had moved to Florida and began attending a brand new church on faith.  Some of these members were young and others were old.  I could not help, but be touched by how they went from nothing, lacking vision, in despair, without hope to having vision, dreams, and purpose again.  Each shared one common denominator, ‘whatever you do, there is a person out there who needs your help, don’t give up.’  Such a simple, yet powerful sentence.

Clarification: Autism Awareness (Part 1)

Friends, I have talked with a few people recently. The more I share this with others, the more I realize there is misconception about something that I feel is very valid and noteworthy of clarification. You can choose to read this post or move on, but I would rather ensure that there is clear understanding rather than preconceived notions, assumptions, or lack of clarity for that matter. I am finally in a spot as a mom and a wife, that I am addressing this from the heart, so please only take this as my way saying, ‘I care and I want you to know’.

Our daughter went through a rigorous process of being evaluated over the course of the last 4 months. As bright, beautiful, intelligent, and spunky as we see our daughter, there were a few minor delays we noticed and we wanted to ensure that if this truly was the case, that our daughter receive the additional support and resources she needed so that she could thrive and be the best her possible! We didn’t want for her glass to be half full so to speak, we wanted to see her full potential come out and shine! As it turns out, Michaiah does fall on the Autism Spectrum.

In Lieu Of What’s Missing, Prosper Anyway!

Hey friends! I was just thinking about you and realized that I hadn’t done a blog post dealing with food and time management in a REALLY LONG time. I was inspired to write this tonight after I made a special treat for my family and it dawned on me to share this with you.

Do you want to be entrusted with more territory? I know I do! It starts with being entrusted with the little things even in your pantry/kitchen. Our family wants to be increased with more and it’s really been laid on my heart to truly be sure we are not wasting food by throwing it away because it got too old and we didn’t eat the leftovers or some of it started getting moldy so I threw it out, that kind of thing. I must confess, in the past this is what happened in our house from time to time even though I have been diligent in meal planning and shopping with what is only on our list! I really was convicted to stop letting cash go in the trash, especially when it came to food!
