Are there areas of your life that you are truly wanting to succeed in? Maybe for the most part things are going just right in your life, but if there were an area to improve upon, would you be willing to do what it takes in order to see results in this area? Maybe you are stuck and you are looking for change and looking for a way to bring out the best in yourself and others? If you fit one of these areas…this message might be just for you to listen to. Here is a special message from my own corporate trainer and coach, Dani Johnson.
Hello there friends, just wanted to encourage you a bit today!
Something that has been really weighing on my heart as I have been praying for each of you is working less hours, but making more income.
You know it’s really not your fault, so don’t condemn nor blame yourself. There has been a tremendous pressure I feel our society has put on us to be performance driven; meaning the more hours you work, the more income you will make. We are taught to go after things and income as though these things will make us happy and fulfill us.
Our society teaches us to look, feel, live, and exist a certain way. We are taught that we are to keep up with the Joneses as much as possible. To think it’s no wonder we live under such stress and pressure to conform. Are societal norms truly worth it? Doing the same thing as everyone else, to follow and have to keep up with trends, is the true definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over again with no resolve; life will continue to evolve, therefore the rat race to keep up will continue in a vicious cycle. A great analogy of this is a hamster in a wheel that has its sight on a destination but never gets there, because the ball causes it to go back and not forward; the plastic is an illusion of what is truly in its foresight. Are we under a similar illusion?
I was at a crossroads, overcoming or full on implosion, letting everything I had worked for consume me. The clock was ticking and only I could make that choice. How could I have been so selfish to think I had really been helping others including my own family? I was a short circuited mess, a ticking time bomb waiting to go off. Something was really not right with this picture.
Right away I went into my prayer closet to ask God what needed to change in me to thrive and succeed the way I truly desired to. Certainly I would be required to walk in a higher measure of faith. Our society teaches us that we must work hard to have the life we want and that God only helps those that help themselves. Though we are called to serve through our work and our efforts, it is not by our own strength and efforts that we excel, but in the hands of our Lord, the very one who breathed and gave us life.
