Success: Overcoming The Pit Falls (Part II)

Hi friends! Last time we were talking about success and creating results. The journey to creating results can seem so smooth until a pit fall comes your way. A pit fall is something that must change in you first in order to move forward and create the life you truly desire. Lets take a look and see which one of these pit falls best describes you and how you will overcome it.

The first pit fall is false pride and ego. False pride and ego is over-estimating and compensating your abilities. When you size up your competition to match their credentials, when you obsess to be better than everyone else and strive to achieve results, when the results and success that you have aren’t good enough, when you think you are already better than everyone else and don’t need any more skills and training because you already know it; these are all classic signs of false pride and ego. Just remember one thing, pride always comes before a fall.

What Worry? I am ‘Trusting!’ (Part I)

I was thinking about you and the topic I wanted to share with each of you this week. Over the weekend, I had the honor and privilege of plugging into a very special training event. All of us come from a different culture, background, and environment that has personally shaped and molded us as individuals. Each of us has also encounter certain personal experiences that coupled with our genetically composed DNA has caused us to respond to certain stimuli in a variety of ways.

Every morning we wake up and decide how we are going to start our day. Throughout the day our minds are going with wheels turning. From the moment our feet hit the ground, we are thinking different thoughts.

Problem V. Opportunity (Part II)

The positive to being in this shop, I was able to identify a need and fill it. The lady serving me had been wanting to get in touch with someone that sells the type of vehicle she is looking for. I was able to refer her to the person we bought our last vehicle from. She, in turn, gave us 10.00 off and 20% off our entire bill. I saved nearly 50.00 by just taking the time to cultivate a relationship with her. From there, I was able to still get to the appointments I had scheduled that day, and get our daughter from school. In between, I had somehow managed to get my tire looked at with a local tire store; they indicated the estimated wait time to be at least minimum 2 hours long. The availability to wait, unfortunately, was not there. I had appointments that I could not miss.

After our daughter’s appointment, I went to the other side of town. In between my appointments, I was able to have the same company, different location, take a look at the tire. I thought I was there to get air and continue on from there with my day. There were already waiting customers ahead of me, but the gentleman assisting me must have had compassion and fixed the tire for me anyway even with people waiting! Rather than charging me for an entirely new tire, he found the root of the problem, corrected the situation, and charged me NOTHING! My jaw dropped to the floor!

Problem V. Opportunity (Part I)

It was just yesterday, the day after coming home from vacation in the wee hours of the morning. I was sure this was going to be the day I would catch up. Of course, I had my day perfectly planned of exactly what I would do, one step at a time…and then it happened…

I had been driving on the highway in stop/start traffic when a kind woman in the lane next to me signaled for me to roll down my window and notified me that my rear tire on the driver’s side was extremely low. I, of course, had 500 things running through my mind…I could not believe this was happening on my catch up day. I took a deep breath and made a decision to redirect my focus. Nothing was worth robbing my joy and positive attitude over.

The Aha Moment of Teachability

Was thinking of you my friend and wanted to share a word of encouragement with you. This morning I was reading my devotional as I always do. At first I didn’t quite understand nor grasp while I was reading about seasons. It took the day to progress to remind me why it is I read my morning devotional! I was so thankful that I did because it gave me such great hope. The message was so good that I could not wait to share it with you. It immediately made me think you!

This morning’s devotional was on ‘seasons’. Just like in part of the world, there are 4 seasons experienced. Each season is very different from the other and no two are alike. The seasons in life that we endure are much of the same way. Some seasons are extremely encouraging and uplifting and in those times it seems like everything is going just perfect. Then there are seasons where our day, week, month, or year, may encounter some unexpected challenges. We can choose to focus on the challenges in front of us and wonder why they are never ending. Our attitude can be aloof, callous, negative, and depressing OR we can choose to ASK God to give us a moment of teaching, a lesson and tutorial of how to bring about good and learn from the situation, challenges, and tribulations you are currently facing.
