Priorities: Does The Wind Have Your Sail? (Part I)

Hey friends, how many of you are feeling challenged by priorities and obligations? I know we have talked about time management before and how to best use the time you have, however, I’d like to expand on priorities.

Why are priorities important? Priorities allow you to not only manage and balance your time, but they help you stay focused on what’s most important.

Remember, you are not all things to all people nor should you be. If this is you and you feel you have to fix, correct, and be there for everyone, this is false burden bearing; meaning you are carry luggage and other peoples’ burdens on your shoulders and it’s weighing you down! First, I must add false responsibility will never get you ahead. In order to even prioritize, I encourage you to give those roles back to those that you took it from and guide and direct others to individuals that can either assist them or to resources that will guide them accordingly. We must not fish for others, but teach them how to fish and be self-sufficient; this means taking care of you and modeling a healthy relationship and lifestyle and working on your own to be the best you can be!

Problem V. Opportunity (Part II)

The positive to being in this shop, I was able to identify a need and fill it. The lady serving me had been wanting to get in touch with someone that sells the type of vehicle she is looking for. I was able to refer her to the person we bought our last vehicle from. She, in turn, gave us 10.00 off and 20% off our entire bill. I saved nearly 50.00 by just taking the time to cultivate a relationship with her. From there, I was able to still get to the appointments I had scheduled that day, and get our daughter from school. In between, I had somehow managed to get my tire looked at with a local tire store; they indicated the estimated wait time to be at least minimum 2 hours long. The availability to wait, unfortunately, was not there. I had appointments that I could not miss.

After our daughter’s appointment, I went to the other side of town. In between my appointments, I was able to have the same company, different location, take a look at the tire. I thought I was there to get air and continue on from there with my day. There were already waiting customers ahead of me, but the gentleman assisting me must have had compassion and fixed the tire for me anyway even with people waiting! Rather than charging me for an entirely new tire, he found the root of the problem, corrected the situation, and charged me NOTHING! My jaw dropped to the floor!

From Banquet To Feast (Part II)

Last post I was discussing with you the banquet I recently had attended in which our head pastor had a shared a very important video with us reminding us of why it is we serve in the church.

In this video shared were just a few testimonials of members who had moved to Florida and began attending a brand new church on faith.  Some of these members were young and others were old.  I could not help, but be touched by how they went from nothing, lacking vision, in despair, without hope to having vision, dreams, and purpose again.  Each shared one common denominator, ‘whatever you do, there is a person out there who needs your help, don’t give up.’  Such a simple, yet powerful sentence.

From Banquet To Feast (Part I)

Recently I attended my first leadership banquet with our church. Once a year, this is a time that those that ‘serve’ in our church are honored for their volunteering and their dedication to the church. This is a great time of fellowship, laughter, food, and gratitude in our hearts.

It was a wonderful time to grow and learn more about one another and where the church is wanting to go for the upcoming year. When I was driving home from our church, however, the Lord began speaking to my heart. I almost feel the name of the banquet had something to do with being servants and here is why. I want you to follow with me on this for a second.

Slow It Down…What Are You In A Hurry For???

Hello there friends it’s good to be with you today! I just wanted to be transparent and share a little something with you that I think may just help someone to overcome today.

Recently, I had a little change and shift in one of the businesses my husband and I own. I had been making calls consistently. I had normal set business hours of operation. I even had a team of people that I was encouraging weekly and helping them to those next steps. Yet, I couldn’t figure out why the results had slowed down a bit. I knew I was following the process and I had even been plugging into the team training calls. I was completely stumped as to what this could have possibly been.
