What’s Your Adaptability Factor?

Hey friends, I was thinking about you and wanted to take a moment to encourage you.

It’s so much easier isn’t it? When your day is all neatly and nicely planned out and when you have your schedule set in a way that you can pick up and go? It must be nice when you can simply cross things off your list until they are done right?

Sounds ideal….

Until life hits you square between the eyes and then what???

Maybe we shouldn’t question this…after all LIFE continues to happen whether we are prepared for it or not.

Problem V. Opportunity (Part II)

The positive to being in this shop, I was able to identify a need and fill it. The lady serving me had been wanting to get in touch with someone that sells the type of vehicle she is looking for. I was able to refer her to the person we bought our last vehicle from. She, in turn, gave us 10.00 off and 20% off our entire bill. I saved nearly 50.00 by just taking the time to cultivate a relationship with her. From there, I was able to still get to the appointments I had scheduled that day, and get our daughter from school. In between, I had somehow managed to get my tire looked at with a local tire store; they indicated the estimated wait time to be at least minimum 2 hours long. The availability to wait, unfortunately, was not there. I had appointments that I could not miss.

After our daughter’s appointment, I went to the other side of town. In between my appointments, I was able to have the same company, different location, take a look at the tire. I thought I was there to get air and continue on from there with my day. There were already waiting customers ahead of me, but the gentleman assisting me must have had compassion and fixed the tire for me anyway even with people waiting! Rather than charging me for an entirely new tire, he found the root of the problem, corrected the situation, and charged me NOTHING! My jaw dropped to the floor!

One Step Forward, Two More Back (Part II)

Our morning is not going to go as planned. We are in stand still traffic and now two emergency vehicles have passed us by. Our daughter is going to be late to school and I am going to be fortunate if I arrive home to my work appointments on time. The tension is magnified and it’s time I do something with this negative energy that is overwhelming my mind. I breathe in and then release a BIG long sigh…

It’s that moment…

The moment I can either panic or that moment I decide to surrender to the Lord. I look back and our daughter is undoing her pigtails and making a mess in the back seat. If I don’t adjust my attitude, I am going to lose my temper. It’s not her fault, she is being 3.

A Blessing In Disguise

Just last week I had shared with you our recent move and the perils we were having with the moving company. They really had drug their feet in getting our items to us. My husband and I held onto faith that we would receive our items, but we didn’t know when or what condition our things would be in once received.

It’s really amazing to me how we often take the simplest things for granted. I admit, in our old place, I had plans for that place, I like nice, new things. Most people do like having the latest, nicest thing. I kept thinking about what I would do with our new place once we moved in and got settled. I thought at the latest, we would have our things three to four days later. Little did our family know that it would be nearly 3 weeks, 26 days total, before our items arrived. The most basic things like cooking utensils or bed, had not arrived. I would have given anything in that moment just for a bed and a table to sit at and eat our meals.
